What we do:
Supernal is looking for a Aviation Safety and Lead Quality Auditor to help manage operational safety, lead internal safety audits, incident investigations, analyze and manage safety data and implement an Integrated Management System for Safety, Quality and Business Resilience to support Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) operations. This role reports directly to the Chief Safety and Quality Officer and will work in close collaboration with the Flight Test organization as well as other engineering and research and development teams. The role will also require collaboration with aviation regulators and industry stakeholders. You will be responsible for data integration, analysis, and dissemination of audit findings, and use that data to continually improve processes and procedures consistent with U.S. Federal Aviation Administration regulations. Additionally, you will ensure that all Supernal safety and quality management processes are aligned with international Standards and industry best practice. As an experienced safety and quality data analyst, must have led aviation safety audits, incident investigations. In this role you will be also central in refining, testing and improving the Supernal emergency response programs specific to AAM operations.
What you can do:
- Lead and conduct audits of the aviation safety and quality risk management processes
- Collect, analyze, manage and interpret data the Supernal Safety Reporting System
- Present and report meaningful results from the safety and quality management system platform to provide data driven initiatives, corrective actions, and manage the data for continual improvement within the audit cycle.
- Manage the Supernal Emergency Response Program, coordinating preparedness through all internal and external stakeholder groups through periodic drills and evaluations
- Deliver training to ensure that Supernal personnel are appropriately qualified in their responsibilities related to the Company SMS
- Collaborate with stakeholders responsible for the design and operation of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft
- Collaborate with Civil Aviation Authorities and aviation industry stakeholders responsible for the implementation and oversight of Safety Management Systems
- Represent Supernal on rule making committees and other venues responsible for development aviation safety regulations
- Other Safety and Quality data management and audit duties as assigned
What you can contribute:
- Certification as a Lead Auditor in Quality and Safety Management Systems (ISO, ISBAO, ICAO, SAE Global, ARGUS, SGS, or other recognized certifying body) required
- Bachelor’s Degree in aviation safety and human factors or similar discipline required
- At least 2 years (and 20 field audits preferred) auditing aviation service providers
- A minimum of five years’ experience in aviation or aviation related safety industry
- A proven track record of working with safety and quality data in aviation safety programs
- A thorough knowledge of international aviation Standards and Recommended Practices

- Proficient with Safety and Quality Data management platforms (e.g. QPulse, ETQ, Intelex, ARGUS Pro, AIRS Vision, AIRS, GALE, Enablon, or similar)
- Ability to effectively communicate data driven safety messages in written and verbal communication
- Ability to lead an operational safety audit
- Demonstrated project management abilities
- Demonstrated safety related training program delivery
