We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Lead Reliability Engineer to drive system resilience and performance across enterprise applications supporting Procurement, Global Security, Technology Services, Global Services, and Engineering Property Services. This role combines engineering practices with operational excellence to reduce downtime, improve system metrics, and enhance user experience.
This role is located in Raritan, NJ.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for system reliability and resilience, including fault detection, tolerance, and preventative maintenance.
- Conduct reliability analysis to identify failure modes and implement mitigation strategies.
- Drive improvements in system availability, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and MTTR (Mean Time to Recovery) through engineering and automation solutions.
- Develop, measure, and improve engineering reliability metrics to ensure high system resilience.
- Lead major incident response within SLA and be responsible for the full problem management lifecycle.
- Collaborate with partners to engineer reliability solutions using automation, observability, GenAI, and preventative actions.
- Monitor and optimise end-to-end system performance using leading industry tools.
- Lead Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) initiatives across supported applications.
- Ensure systems meet or exceed service availability targets and lead application/technology lifecycles.
- Be responsible for event and change management processes, ensuring all IT changes are accurately performed.
- Coordinate with disaster recovery teams for IT service continuity planning and testing.
- Develop collaboration with global and regional technologists, business partners, and vendors to maintain high system reliability.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2 years of IT experience supporting enterprise applications in a global environment.
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes including incident, change, and problem management.
- Shown experience in leading incident response and driving problem resolution.
- Excellent communication, judgement, and collaborative leadership skills.
- Proven accountability and problem-solving abilities in fast paced environments.
- Ability to lead multiple projects independently and deliver results.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically or internationally.
Preferred
- Experience with SAP Ariba, webMethods, and Mbox.
- Background in Procurement, Global Security, and Engineering & Property Services domains.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI, observability practices, and advanced monitoring tools.
- Exposure to release management processes and tools.
