Job Description
- Serve as primary responsible for design-related queries and issues
- Manage and coordinate process and product changes
- Utilize CATIA V5 for all design and engineering tasks
- Apply engineering principles to develop automotive products that meet customer technical and functional specifications, as well as manufacturing cost and efficiency requirements.
- Conduct 3D modeling to evaluate the technical feasibility of proposed designs
- Support and participate in the design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of automotive prototypes
- Design manufacturing processes and equipment specific to automotive product production.
- Manage product releases, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of new designs and updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or related field). A master’s degree can be preferred.
- Professional Certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) may be beneficial.
- Automotive Engineering Knowledge: Deep understanding of automotive systems (powertrain, electrical, chassis, interior, etc.).
- Design & Development: Expertise in product design, development, and validation processes. Experience with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Engineering Standards: Knowledge of industry standards (ISO, SAE, etc.) and regulatory requirements.
- Prototyping & Testing: Experience with building prototypes, testing, and refining designs to meet safety and performance standards.
- Materials and Manufacturing: Understanding of materials used in automotive components and manufacturing processes.
- Simulation Software: Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Ansys).
- Team Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage engineers, and collaborate with other departments (e.g., design, manufacturing, quality).
- Project Management: Proficient in managing timelines, resources, and budgets. Experience in Agile or similar project management methodologies.
- Mentorship: Ability to mentor junior engineers and guide them in problem-solving and innovation.
- Industry Experience: Typically, 5-10 years of experience in the automotive industry, with a strong focus on product development and engineering.
- Previous Leadership Roles: Experience leading product engineering teams or managing engineering projects.
- Problem-Solving: Experience in troubleshooting complex issues and finding innovative solutions.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with different stakeholders (internal teams, suppliers, customers).
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Collaboration: Ability to work with various departments, including manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, and marketing.
- Electric/Autonomous Vehicles: Understanding of electric vehicle (EV) and autonomous vehicle technologies, trends, and innovations.
- Sustainability: Knowledge of sustainable automotive technologies, such as lightweight materials, energy-efficient systems, and emission reduction.
