Lead Network Specialist (Contract)

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Network Specialist to join our growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) team. In this leadership role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructures for a diverse client base. You will serve as a technical expert, mentor junior staff, and ensure high-quality service delivery while maintaining strong client relationships. This is a contract until the beginning of March.
Hours: Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm

Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, deployment, and optimization of client network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless systems.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex networking issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Collaborate with clients to assess business needs, recommend solutions, and implement secure, scalable network designs.
• Manage and monitor network performance, proactively identifying risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of switches, routers, firewalls, and other networking equipment.
• Ensure compliance with client security requirements, industry standards, and MSP best practices.
• Document network diagrams, configurations, and processes for internal knowledge base and client records.
• Mentor and support junior network engineers and technicians, fostering technical growth and professional development.
• Assist leadership with strategic planning, technology evaluations, and service delivery improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours client support as needed.
