Lead, Laser – Swing Shift

Monday - Thursday, 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM

Starting Base Range of $27.00 - $31.00 + $2.00 shift differential

What You’ll Be Doing as a Lead, Laser:

Provides daily work direction to team members performing set up, programing and operation of laser marking equipment. Provides training, manages workflow, and troubleshoots problems.

  • Organizes daily workflow; determines tasks and expectations specific to each shift. Acts as a working lead, performing daily tasks as necessary.
  • Assists leadership and planning team to maintain production and schedule resources.
  • Develops and maintain Training Tools-Technics/Workflow.
  • Maintains SDP program and provides training to employees to communicate best practices, enhance technical skills, and increase proficiency and work quality.
  • Communicates and enforces quality and production standards.
  • Troubleshoots problems and determines when to escalate issues.
  • Manages department specific equipment; orders replacement fixtures, tooling and other supplies as necessary.
  • Performs First Article Inspection, and inputs Jira, maintenance or IT tickets when necessary.
  • Works closely with Tech Service on problem solving issues with custom dials (example: order was not progress, order won’t ship, etc.).
  • Monitor and ensure that TMs are following the WIP Visibility sequence for each machine.
  • Assists in maintaining a safe and ergonomic work environment through safety meetings, maintaining clean work areas, making sure equipment, and tooling is in good working condition.
  • Responsible for auditing area of responsibility which could include auditing of products at the machine, correct tool function and usage, following quality checks, following safety rules, checking for out of calibration tooling and equipment.
  • Responsible for entering move orders and oversees inventory maintenance including physical counting, validating, processing transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Communicates closely with Planning and Department ME to ensure that we meet our internal/external customer demands.
  • Monitor and provide feedback to TMs when they are not following established policies or processes.
  • Responsible for problem solving quality issues and giving feedback/ideas to ME.
  • Actively engaged in identifying continuous improvement opportunities and works cross functionally with all stakeholders on implementation of process improvements.
  • Works cross functionally to assist in the execution of New Product Implementation, End-of-Life, and Excess & Obsolete plans.
  • Performs advanced root cause investigations on inventory discrepancies, escalates issues to the Engineering Value Streams, Purchasing, Quality, or Planning, as appropriate.
  • Participates in projects as assigned, serving as Inventory Control representative and subject matter expert.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Experience You’ll Need as a Lead, Laser:

  • Requires high school diploma and 5 years’ experience with laser marking equipment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  Experience with similar production equipment suitable alternative
  • Demonstrated proficiency with laser marking equipment, including adjustment and modification of computer programs.
  • Proficiency with the use of precision measuring instruments and equipment.
  • Demonstrate ability to coach, train, and provide work direction to team members.
  • Excellent math aptitude with intermediate GD&T skills.
