Job Purpose:
The Lead Installation Technician will be responsible for the full installation of walk-in cooler and freezer boxes, refrigeration piping systems, EMS controls, and related refrigeration equipment. This is a field leadership role requiring expertise in piping, brazing, and system startup. The ideal candidate will have a strong construction or HVACR background and must reside in or near Hernando County, FL, as all teams meet locally each morning.
Duties:
- Lead and perform the installation of walk-in coolers/freezers and related systems.
- Execute refrigeration piping, brazing, and equipment setup to industry and code standards.
- Install and program EMS (Energy Management Systems) controls.
- Coordinate daily with team members, managers, and warehouse staff to ensure material readiness and job efficiency.
- Interpret installation drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site and company vehicle.
- Provide mentorship and on-site training to junior installers.
- Communicate effectively with project managers and clients during installations.
- Complete all necessary documentation and photos for job tracking and completion.
- Adhere to company safety protocols and represent the company with professionalism and integrity.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Installer in a construction or HVACR setting.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Walk-in cooler and freezer box installations
- Piping and brazing techniques
- Refrigeration systems and EMS controls
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration tools, materials, and safety procedures.
- Able to lift 50 lbs., work at heights, and perform physical labor.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Must be local to Hernando County – this position requires a daily start at our central facility.
- Universal EPA Certification (preferred but not required at time of hire).
- Ability to work independently while leading a team and ensuring quality control.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
