Accountabilities
The Lead Verification Pharmacist
reports to the Manager, Engage Operations & Dispensing and oversees the operations of the central fill pharmacy facility, ensuring efficient and accurate prescription dispensing, inventory management, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves leading a team of pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, and support staff to maintain high standards of quality and customer service.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement operational procedures to optimize prescription filling processes, minimize errors, and maximize efficiency.
- Monitor workflow to ensure timely dispensing of prescriptions and adherence to service level agreements.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate inventory management, replenishment, and distribution activities.
- Recruit, train, and oversee the operations of the pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, and administrative staff.
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to ensure staff members meet productivity and quality targets.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, including HIPAA, FDA guidelines, and controlled substance laws.
- Implement quality assurance measures to monitor prescription accuracy, medication safety, and adherence to best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and mitigate risks.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- In partnership with the Manager, Engage Operations & Dispensing, will implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty, such as personalized services and medication counseling.
- Collaborate with retail pharmacies and healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and medication management.
- Oversee the implementation and utilization of pharmacy automation systems, including robotic dispensing technologies and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Leverage data analytics and reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators and make data-driven decisions.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in pharmacy automation to optimize operational efficiency.
