Position Summary
As the Lead Director Software Development Engineering of the Member and Enrollment Domain in our Aetna Technology organization, you will lead the application development and production support teams supporting Commercial Lines of Business. The Lead Director of Software Development Engineering will manage program level teams to modernize the legacy ID card production system with a new set of systems built from the ground up. The right candidate will lead teams through major complex programs impacting the enterprise to transition from Legacy to a modern System. In this role the Lead Director of Software Development Engineering will ensure and manage the quality of the deliverables and ensure all risks are mitigated before moving to production.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all Application Development and Production Support
Lead a team of delivery professionals including onboarding talent, career development, and vendor relationship management
Lead multiple application development teams made up of Scrum Masters, Software Engineers, Business Analysts, and QA resources
Engage with business partners to define their strategy and tactical needs and expectations as it pertains to their goals and objective for the application business needs.
Coordinate the planning, scheduling, and installation of a multiyear ID card program.
Facilitate and support an Agile Development Methodology and Product based model
Build teams, manage security risk, tech debt, audits, modernize systems, open enrollment resiliency
Lead teams through major complex programs impacting the enterprise
Provider support in Open Enrollment and Welcome Season
Required Qualifications
10+ years in technical domain as a developer or similar technical role.
5+ years in large complex healthcare organization
5+ years leading development teams focused on Mainframe and distributed systems
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years direct experience with Mainframe technologies (Cobol, JCL, CICS, etc)
10+ years experience in supporting operations.
5 + years experience driving mainframe transformation
5 + years driving system modernization
Master's Degree
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)
