Nuveen Tech Trade & Operations Technology organization has an opportunity for a Lead Development Manager. This role will have oversight of the analysis, programming, and configuration of IT Systems Software. This position will advise developers on the best methods of software development and code creation. This position will collaborate with diverse leadership teams and will provide project management leadership for software development activities.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

 

• Manage the performance of the team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional products and engagement, motivation, and development of team.
• Develops the organization's global strategies and initiatives to enhance Information Technology plans, operations, and procedures.
• Monitors development work to ensure resulting software meets established goals.
• Manages the identification of business needs, conducts requirements gathering, and defines scope and objectives for the IT System.
• Manages the configuration, customization, diagnosis, and enhancements of operating systems software.
• Provides oversight on the development and implementation of new products, processes, and operational plans.
• Provides oversight of user training on new or modified software.
• Oversees the cost/benefit evaluation of cloud solutions compared to virtual private networks, dedicated hosting, and in-house solutions.
• Reviews the technical feasibility assessment of adopting external cloud-based IT platform and infrastructure services within the organization.
• Guides the identification of portions of the organization's IT platform/infrastructure with the highest potential return for cloud deployment.

• Bachelor's Degree Required

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of in-depth programming experience.
• AWS development experience.
• Experience developing systems/software applications/tools using modern programming languages preferably Python or Java and related eco system with any RDBMS.
• Current or prior work experience with Capital Market Technology.
• Experience working with of OOP (Object oriented programming)/ functional programming, design patterns, architecture patterns.
• Experience with REST API development, consumption, and integration.
• Experience with IDE, build tools or CI/CD tools.

Preferred Skills:

• Minimum of 4+ years of prior work experience building enterprise grade software systems applications using Python and related eco system with any RDBMS
• Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing and working with complex data environments.
• Experience working with Fixed Income Front office technology, Trading Systems/ Analytics platform.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related discipline.

Anticipated Posting End Date:

Base Pay Range: $118,800/yr. - $220,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
