Description
Position Purpose:
Serve in a lead capacity as an expert data analyst and may also lead a team. Create and analyze reports to support operations. Present report findings in a concise manner to appropriate management level. Directly responsible for accuracy of data as financial and operational decisions are made based on the data provided.
Location:
This position is full-time (40 hours per week), Monday – Friday. It will be an on-site position at 17 Technology Circle in Columbia, SC with a potential hybrid schedule after training.
What You’ll Do:
- Reviews, extracts and analyzes data to be used in formulation of procedures, processes and other requirements. Provides reports of relevant activity to be used to identify problematic areas and to provide basis for modification and/or elimination of operations issues.
- Assists with development of complex analysis and sophisticated data compilation, verification, and interpretations to guide divisional efforts. Performs focused analyses as needed. Creates data search programs to identify pertinent data needed to provide supporting documentation for system or operational enhancements/changes.
- Documents reporting procedures so other staff can run ad hoc reports independently. Designs, codes, and maintains complex database programs for the extraction and analysis of data to support financial and operational decisions.
To Qualify for This Position, You’ll Need:
Required Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Healthcare, or other job-related field OR
- A 2-year degree in Computer Science, Business or related field AND 2 years of reporting and data analysis work experience OR
- 4 years reporting and data analysis experience.
Required Work Experience:
- 6 years of research and analysis experience.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational, customer service, communications and analytical skills.
- Advanced experience using complex mathematical calculations and understand mathematical and statistical concepts.
- Knowledge of relevant computer support systems.
- The ability to train subordinate staff including providing assistance/guidance to staff in design/execution of reporting needs.
- Proven experience with report writing and technical requirements analysis, data and business process modeling/mapping and methodology development.
- Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
- Knowledge of the healthcare delivery system.
