Position Summary
The Lead Consultant will implement tax technology solutions such as tax engines, exemption management solutions, and compliance tools. Provides innovative solutions to complex indirect tax issues using emerging technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all phases of the software implementation methodology including planning, requirements gathering, solution design, tax configuration, testing, knowledge transfer, and cutover support
- Project management activities such as leading status calls, creating status reports, taking meeting minutes, and maintaining project plans
- Create and maintain project documentation
- Offer/apply in-depth knowledge of tax technology best practices and function as a subject matter expert to clients
- Lead tax requirements sessions with clients for input to the solution design
- Implement an array of tax technology solutions as well as integrate these solutions with ERP, Billing, POS, and Ecommerce systems
- Assist with troubleshooting functional and technical issues related to tax solutions
- Explain the high-level differences among the tax engine solutions and define opportunities for improvement for existing tax technology solutions
- Assist management with business development activities
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field required
- 5-7 years of experienced in a related role
- Strong knowledge of tax application configuration procedures within ERP
- Ability to define required data components required for non-standard integrations
- Understanding of various freight configurations and how pricing works
- Ability to work independently, manage projects, and take initiative
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
- Expertise with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Projects, Access, etc.
- Travel as required (approximately 15-25%)
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position does not qualify for employment-based sponsorship.
