JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Cloud Architect will design and implement enterprise-level cloud solutions that align with UT Southwestern’s strategic objectives, ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud technologies, provides technical leadership and mentorship, and drives innovation through multi-cloud and AI adoption. The position requires deep expertise in cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, and compliance standards, with a proven ability to optimize complex environments in an academic medical center setting. This position does not support H1B visa sponsorship. Incumbent must reside in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical, Education, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Business, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
- Experience
10 years of experience in an enterprise support role and relevant experience designing or supporting resources and services in cloud-based architecture models, to include at least five years experience enabling production workloads in Microsoft, Amazon or Google cloud(s).
- Licenses and Certifications
Google Professional Cloud (GPC) architect or
Google Associate Cloud Engineer or
Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or
AWS Certified Solutions Architect ‿ Professional or
AWS Certified Solutions Architect ‿ Associate
JOB DUTIES
- Performs evaluations, recommendations and implementations from an on-premises and cloud network perspective in the context of a larger enterprise ecosystem. Contributes meaningfully to the overall IT portfolio strategy.
- Shares blueprints and translate cloud products, services, and capabilities, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to colleagues who represent a wide range of technical acumen.
