A role in Store Design means the opportunity to apply your innovative and sustainable architectural design and technical expertise. Your work will ultimately help define the physical experience. The interactions and connectivity between the physical, digital and human elements Target develops for our guest, will evolve the brand image in store and ultimately support Target’s business strategies. You’ll interpret program and scope details to integrate them with interior and exterior site design and aesthetic for new stores, remodels and innovation projects
As a Lead Architecture Project Designer, you will have responsibility for developing, changing and maintaining and effectively training all site design, exterior design, life safety,and interior store design. Role will require juggling multiple projects, initiatives or programs at one time in various stages of development, a full understanding of how buildings are designed, detailed and constructed, with innate knowledge of general technical Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical systems, and Financial Sustainability expertise that influence design solutions.
You will translate strategy into design intent and deployment through the development of concept options and inform, direct and speak to design aesthetic to partners internal and external to Target.. Inclusive to this is creating and maintaining design criteria, change projects, prototypes, engaging in quality assurance routines, and training/onboarding internal and external partners as needed to service our programs. You will be responsible to research retail and other industry benchmarks, competition and internal guest and partner insights to inform design direction as well as maintain knowledge and understanding of current industry design trends and best methods.
