Lead Applied Data Scientist, GenAI

As a Lead/Principal Data Scientist at AIG you will be serve a critical role in building and overseeing a team of highly productive data scientists tasked with delivery impactful enterprise level Generative AI Solutions.

Your responsibilities include:

• Oversee the development and successful delivery of data science and generative AI solutions in accordance with the business requirements.  Monitor solutions in production.

• Ability to develop technical delivery plans and execute on those plans to deliver solutions on time.

• Mentor and oversee junior data scientists.

• Collaborating with cross functional teams that comprise product managers, engineers and business leaders.

What is needed to be successful:

Required applied skills

• 7-10 Years Experience in a traditional data science role, preferably in NLP, working in an agile production orientated environment.

• 3-5 years (minimum) experience managing teams of data scientists and or engineers.

• 1-2 year (minimum) experience with building Generative AI Solutions (Prompt engineering, designing and building RAG frameworks, validation pipelines, observability and monitoring solutions)

• It is critical that candidates have extensive hands on experience as we are an applied data science team operating in an agile and production orientated environment.  Candidates who have only managerial or architecture experience should not apply.

• Preference will be given to candidates who have work experience on the Palantir platform or who can demonstrate certification.

• PHD or Masters in Data Sciences or Masters in Computer Science.

• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within and across teams.

• Ability to act in a managerial as well as hands on experience.

• Highly technical and hands on leader.
