About the role

Plans and implements a resident activities program that meets all regulatory standards. Coordinates all volunteer activities on the unit, while being able to complete projects independently in a timely manner. Works well with resident and resident families. Partners with different contacts to provide and organize social activities, musical or pet therapy requests, as well as the spiritual and religious desires.

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: Background check.
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • Must meet one of the following: 
    • 1 year activity experience within the past 5 years in a healthcare setting, Or
    • Be an Occupational Therapist, Art Therapist, Music Therapist, Dance Therapist, Recreation Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant, Or
    • Satisfactorily completed, or be enrolled in, at least 36 hours of training in a course designed specifically for this position and approved by the State of California (if this is the only requirement met then must regularly consult with Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant or Recreation Assistant who has at least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Upon hire: Activity Director Certification (ADC) through the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals.
  • Long term care experience.
  • EHR experience.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
