We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary
This Lead Accountant position supports the CFO Accounting organization with a primary responsibility of regulatory accounting and reporting for Dominion Energy Virginia.
Specific Duties to include the following:
- Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing accounting records, financial statements and other external reporting to regulatory bodies including but not limited to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and State Utility Commissions, while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and conformity to reporting and procedural standards
- Conducting complex assignments and analysis involving accounting projects, identifying best practices and regulatory impacts and leveraging analytical and interpersonal skills to work towards resolution
- Leading responses to accounting and reporting requests from regulatory bodies and utility customers, which may require cross functional coordination at times.
- Preparing, coordinating, compiling and analyzing financial statement variance explanations for internal and external financial reporting
- Providing leadership including functional advice and training to less experienced accountants
Responsibilities may include the following activities:
- Performing and maintaining strong internal control activities and related documentation
- Leading and maintaining accounting records and reporting for complex partnership or financing arrangements
- Conducting complex assignments and analysis involving accounting projects and the day-to-day maintenance of the regulatory general ledger
- Routinely interacting with internal and external customers
- Performing other duties as requested
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
7+ years of general accounting experience or related experience or 5+ years of experience working in public accounting. Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more experience will be rounded up to one year.
Other required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
- Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP) practices and procedures
- Experience with regulatory (FERC and state regulations) preferred but not required
- Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent analytical and computer skills including Excel
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills, where judgment required
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to periodically and succinctly report complex accounting matters to management

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
