Overview of the Role

The laborabory and pilot plant technician will report to the corporate VP Cheese Applications and offers an exciting opportunity for passionate individuals to explore, innovate, and grow in the dairy technology field. As part of a groundbreaking project focused on R&D fundamentals, you will have the chance to work on advanced technical research and development projects that are set to revolutionize the dairy industry. Your contributions will be crucial in enhancing the technical processes and methodologies behind dairy production, driving significant advancements in both the industry and consumer products.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:

• Perform various simple and complex chemical and physical analyses
• Develop and adapt new analytical methods
• Assist in running benchtop and pilot plant trials
• Handle, test, calibrate, and manage the maintenance of laboratory and test kitchen equipment
• Anticipate, detect, interpret, and apply corrective measures to various techniques
• Collaborate on different phases of research and development projects
• Participate in the optimization of existing analytical methods and the development of new methods
• Perform other related tasks

You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:

• College degree or technical diploma in laboratory or analytical  techniques
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in analytical techniques within a product research and development context, quality insurance , particularly in a dairy or food environment
• Strong organizational skills, priority management, and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent analytical and synthesis skills, as well as problem-solving capabilities
• Interest in dairy and food sciences and technology.
• Keen observation skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and intellectual curiosity
• Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and adaptability to change.
• Excellent ability to work both in a team and independently
• Ability to develop new analytical method and reproducible experimental protocols
• Knowledge of technical aspects of development, optimization, and validation of analytical methods
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication
• Familiarity with using computers and various software applications; quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English (spoken and written) is required, as communication with various locations across Canada will be necessary

As part of their duties, the incumbent will have to communicate and collaborate in English, both orally and in writing with colleagues or other stakeholders in Quebec as well as in the rest of Canada or in North America.

Salary Range: $52,730 - $69,230

*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
