Lab Technician

NOV Fluid Technology is in search for a Fluid Lab Technician to assist in field support and the R&D lab located in Conroe, Tx. Successful candidate will be working with the fluid technology team and be responsible for day to day receiving, testing, reporting and handling of fluid projects.

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform lab testing, analytical reporting and maintenance and handling of lab equipment.
2. Discussing and support internal operations on any questions related to project.
3. Organizing and storing samples in accordance with all safety and other requirements to ensure the safety of personnel and integrity of the sample.
4. Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including recalibration of equipment.
5. Assist R&D Engineering group and Fluid Technology Manager in areas of product and system development.
6. Maintain and comply with latest API lab requirements.
7. Maintain environmental compliances as it relates to chemicals and disposal.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide lab and technical assistance to NOV groups engaged in product system, equipment development.
2. Interface with customers regarding laboratory functions, capabilities, and test results.

JOB ANALYSIS:

1. Experience or education in drilling fluids analyses.
2. Background in rig operations, field experience a plus.
3. Knowledge and background in API RP 13 B-1, 13 B-2, 13C and 13I highly sought but not required.
