Job Purpose

We are looking for a Lab Technician to work in our Bowling Green, Ohio facility. This person is responsible for providing lab services, following standard procedures, and working with cross-functional teams. The position ensures that all regulatory requirements are adhered to while performing work functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the Lab Supervisor, conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses on incoming and outgoing products for quality control.
• Ensure proper documentation is obtained and certificates of analysis are provided as required.
• Ensure laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies are maintained.
• Follow standard operating procedures and maintain proper records for regulatory compliance.
• Assist in maintaining an active AHRI accreditation through successful quarterly testing.
• Demonstrate the ability to be a safety leader by fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring a safe work environment with a commitment to zero injuries, emissions, and zero leaks.
• Understands hazards of various gases, sizes, and contents of cylinders by reading safety data sheets.
• Maintain ISO programs including 9001 and 14001 and comply with all OSHA requirements.
• Other duties as reasonably assigned.

Certifications Required:

• EPA 608 certification required upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required college degree preferred
• Previous experience in laboratory/quality control environment required
• Knowledge of Gas Chromatography required and KF (Karl Fischer) Titration preferred
• Understanding of regulatory compliance and certifications- AHRI, EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), DOT, OSHA desired
• Knowledge of the HVAC industry and experience that includes working with refrigerants and/or fire suppression agents

Physical Demand Requirements:   

• Occasionally pushes, pulls, moves, and/or lifts to 50 pounds independently.
• Sitting 10% of the day; standing and/or walking 80-90% of the time
• Lifting/Carrying from one level to another approximately 10% of the time
• Occasionally moves cylinders that weigh up to 200 pounds with a four-wheel cart.
• Frequently identifies written information on cylinders such as serial numbers, manufacture date, etc.
• Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft, and data entry.
• Manipulations (seizing, holding, grasping, or otherwise working with hands) up to 50-75% of the day.
• Stooping and kneeling up to 20% of the day
• Frequently communicates detailed information to others. Must be able to exchange accurate information that others can understand.

The targeted pay range is between $20.00 - $25.00 per hour.
