Part Time Nightshift
Job Description:
The Laboratory Associate performs the pre-analytic phase of patient specimen testing to ensure accurate and quality results.
Gathers demographic and financial information pertinent for the lab visit to enable customer satisfaction and financial viability and enters data into Hospital Information System.
Transcribes outpatient lab orders and performs entry of some test results received from outside reference laboratories.
Assists with non-blood specimen collection for legal urine drug screen testing.
Assists in processing laboratory specimens and delivering them to the respective departments.
Provides excellent customer service via telephone and in-person interactions with clinical staff and non-hospital employees.
Requirements:
High school diploma, or equivalent, or higher required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Works well in a high-pressure environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with Epic System and registration preferred.
Working knowledge of insurance providers/payers preferred.
Accuracy and efficiency with knowledge of laboratory terms preferred.
