The Moscow Food Co-op is seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Manager to lead one of the busiest production departments in the store.
Our kitchen is not a traditional made-to-order restaurant kitchen. It is a high-volume production kitchen that prepares hundreds of fresh products each week for the Hot Bar, Salad Bar, Grab & Go, Deli Cases, catering, and other prepared foods programs. Success in this role requires strong production planning, organization, leadership, and the ability to balance quality, efficiency, food safety, and financial performance.

What You'll Do
As Kitchen Manager, you'll oversee every aspect of kitchen operations while building a culture of teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.
You'll:
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing kitchen team through hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and employee development.
Oversee a high-volume scratch production kitchen that supplies fresh products for the Hot Bar, Salad Bar, Grab & Go, deli cases, catering, and other prepared foods programs.
Plan and coordinate daily and weekly production to ensure products are consistently available while minimizing waste.
Maintain high standards for food quality, consistency, recipes, portioning, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
Monitor department performance, including sales, labor, gross margin, productivity, inventory, and shrink, using data to drive continuous improvement.
Partner with the Kitchen Buyer, Deli Manager, and Prepared Foods Manager to coordinate purchasing, production, merchandising, and department priorities.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, HACCP, allergen, and Idaho Health Department regulations.
Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient production environment.
Foster a culture of world-class customer service by ensuring fresh, high-quality food is consistently available.
Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a leader who enjoys both managing people and improving operations.
The ideal candidate will have:
Leadership experience in a high-volume production kitchen, commissary, commercial kitchen, grocery prepared foods department, institutional food service, catering operation, or similar food production environment.
Experience managing large-scale food production, production scheduling, labor planning, inventory control, and food costing.
Strong coaching and leadership skills with experience hiring, training, motivating, and developing employees.
Extensive knowledge of food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and allergen management.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
The ability to analyze department performance and make data-driven operational decisions.

Full-time: 38–40 hours per week
