Job Summary

Location: Detroit, MI

Entry-level position provides transactional analysis and gas scheduling, working closely with traders and other schedulers, with oversight and supervision of a senior scheduler to optimize and accurately provide pipeline activities on multiple pipelines in support of the Trading organization. Basic understanding of the movement of natural gas, pipeline tariffs, multiple electronic bulletin boards, internal tracking, and risk systems, and is capable of tracking transactions from inception to month end close with close supervision. Work is diversified, requiring analytical and technical skills relating to least-cost methods. Acts with guidance from supervisor or team.

Key Accountabilities

• Applies basic knowledge of Front Office to timely scheduling of natural gas transactions
• Works closely with regional team to understand and implement transactions
• Uses basic knowledge of pipeline contracts to optimize in the most efficient manner
• Verifies transactions with third parties and maintains good relationships
• Monitors pipeline volumes in pipeline EBBs and make appropriate changes
• Maintains all associated spreadsheets, pipeline imbalances and storage balances
• Monitors pipeline notices and alerts team to relevant issues
• Analyzes reports of internal systems and takes corrective action
• Balances source and disposition daily on pipelines and internal systems
• Assists in deal reconciliation transactions, as necessary
• Provides on-call support for weekend coverage, as scheduled
• Performs all other related duties as assigned

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with one year of professional work experience or currently enrolled in an accredited institution actively seeking a bachelor's degree

Other Qualifications

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Scheduling or pipeline experience
• Highly proficient in Excel
• Possesses strong analytical skills
