Junior Software Engineer

Expertise and Functions

• Develop high-quality software using a variety of technologies
• Work in a collaborative, agile environment
• Work with stakeholders to capture and develop requirements, set expectations, and prioritize development tasks
• Follow and improve established standards and processes
• Follow sound engineering practices
• Keep up to date with current programming tools and practices
• Participate in planning activities and negotiate expectations
• Provide guidance into decisions like feasibility analyses, build/buy decisions, etc.
• Provide necessary documentation
• Demonstrate high commitment to collaboration and team achievement
• Follow and improve established CMMI standards and processes
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education/Training: 

• Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited institution in relevant engineering or science discipline required  

Experience:

• 0+ years of professional experience in the required task area

Security:

• Must be a US citizen
• Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Physical Requirements:

• Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
• Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
• Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
• Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time
