We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Engineer for Clinical Systems, specialized in data analytics to join our team. You will play a crucial role in analyzing healthcare data, developing data reporting, supporting clinical systems, and ensuring effective communication between end users and system services. Role is remote/hybrid based out of Louisville, KY. About 80% of the time will be work from home. The other 20% will be in our Louisville office.

  • Apply Healthcare Knowledge: Utilize your understanding of healthcare operations and information systems to promote efficient use of clinical systems. You’ll be at the forefront of translating data into actionable insights.
  • Liaison and Communication: Serve as a bridge between end users and system services. Your ability to communicate effectively will be essential in understanding user needs and translating them into technical requirements.
  • Impact Analysis: Evaluate the impact of both minor changes and large system initiatives. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of technology (e.g., HEDIS, FHIR, CQL, Medical coding) during patient care delivery.
  • Comprehensive Knowledge: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of assigned applications, operational workflows, and associated policies. Your expertise will contribute to efficient data management and process improvement.
  • Research and Innovation: Investigate solutions to enhance processes, standards, and technology. Based on approved guiding principles, propose improvements that optimize data utilization and reporting.
  • Confidentiality and Sensitivity: Handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality. Adhere to strict requirements when preparing and distributing data.
  • Technical Skills: Leverage your advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, experience with Oracle or other relational databases (RDBMS) in an enterprise environment, working knowledge of Linux environment is essential.
  • Analytical Abilities: Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You’ll be responsible for extracting meaningful insights from complex datasets.
  • Time Management and Prioritization: Manage priorities and deadlines effectively. Execute tasks efficiently to meet project goals.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancement. Recommend changes to operational leadership based on data analysis.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally. Your ability to convey insights to diverse audiences is crucial.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Health Informatics, Healthcare, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Oracle or other RDBMS in an enterprise environment.  Experience with Snowflake helpful.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as bash, SAS, or Python is helpful.
  • Ability to understand C++, Java, JavaScript helpful.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in Agile development environment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations is advantageous.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$78,800 - $108,500 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
