Business Analyst – Application Migration Team

Role Overview:
The Business Analyst plays a critical role in the Application Migration Team by bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. This position is responsible for analyzing the organization's current state, identifying customer requirements, defining future states, and ensuring that the migration process aligns with business objectives. Working within the SAFe Agile framework, the Business Analyst supports the team's decision-making process and ensures that migrated applications meet both technical and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Analysis and Assessment:

  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of the organization's structure, processes, and systems. Assess the current business model and its integration with technology.
  • Identify areas for improvement and optimization in the context of application migration.

Process Design and Documentation:

  • Design and document business processes that align with the new hosting environment. Create process maps and workflows to illustrate current and future states.

Requirements Gathering and Translation:

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders. Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements for the migration team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define the desired future state of applications post-migration. Create detailed specifications for the future state, including process improvements and system enhancements.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Gather and analyze data from various sources to support decision-making. Synthesize complex information into clear, concise reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather input from diverse stakeholders.
  • Communicate analysis findings, recommendations, and project progress to all levels of the organization.

Solution Evaluation:

  • Assess proposed technical solutions against business requirements.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for different migration approaches. Evaluate the impact of proposed changes on business processes and user experience.

Testing and Validation:

  • Develop UAT (User Acceptance Testing) plans and test cases based on business requirements.
  • Document and communicate test results and necessary adjustments.

Agile Methodology Participation:

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives).
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to refine and prioritize the product backlog. Ensure user stories are well-defined and meet acceptance criteria.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, system analysis, or a related role.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent.
  • SAFe Agile certification (e.g., SAFe Agilist, SAFe Practitioner).
  • ITIL certification or other relevant technical certifications.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • US Citizens only (no dual citizenship)
  • Minimum of an active Secret Clearance
  • This is an on-site position in St. Louis, MO. Candidates must be local or willing to travel to St. Louis Monday-Friday weekly.
