The Operational Risk, Risk Quantification and Regulatory Framework Solutions Department is one of the two departments within the Desjardins Technology Group to support Desjardins's Risk Management Executive Division. We support the credit risk, operational risk, credit rating modelling and loan collection teams, among others.

We're also responsible for the Risk Management Core Service Centre, which is a team specializing in developing APIs and solutions to expose risk-related data and features. This team uses agile development approaches.

As a Tech Lead – Risk Management Core Service Centre, you analyze, design, configure, develop, maintain and upgrade software based on the organization's needs. You're responsible for the quality and security of coded solutions.

You draw on your ability to work with technology and anticipate innovation to actively help develop, standardize and roll out large-scale IT systems, programs and applications. You analyze client and partner needs and recommend IT solutions. You plan, prioritize and coordinate work to meet objectives. Your projects and initiatives require extensive, in-depth knowledge of your line of work.

You help solve highly complex problems using your analytical skills and comprehensive, detailed understanding of your line of business and the organization. Coordination is critical. You interact with many stakeholders working in a wide range of fields.

You lead and serve as a systems specialist for your unit, clients and practitioners.

General Information on the Position

Main responsibilities

• Develop complex execution strategies, and analyze, design and document business products and solutions

• Analyze and develop software products (design, code, automate and run tests), while applying development, data and security best practices

• Write procedures, guidelines and development methods. Help develop documentation and prepare and deliver training for peers and users

• Cocreate with business partners and architects to get a complete understanding of business intentions and objectives and standardize solutions accordingly

• Identify system optimization opportunities and underlying impacts of changes. Analyze, diagnose, follow up on and resolve highly complex operational and conceptual problems during major incidents

• Lead software package installations and testing and application rollout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

• Experience working as a technical leader

• Experience using the programming language Java

• Experience designing REST APIs

Specific knowledge

• Knowledge of authorization and authentication technologies such as OAuth2 and OIDC

• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure

• Knowledge of the PostGreSQL and Azure SQL databases

• Knowledge of SOA architecture

• Knowledge of microservice architecture

• Knowledge of the PaaS Pivotal Cloud Foundry platform (an asset)
