Java Software Development Technical Lead

What does a successful Java Software Development Technical Lead do at Fiserv?

You will lead our engineering group within the Collections division of Fiserv’s Issuer Solutions business, supporting our products and their deployments for use by the largest Issuers in the financial industry. You will be a part of a global team of talented people responsible for creating and maintaining a suite of web applications, APIs in a fast-paced purposeful environment. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to the developed technology patterns, practices, and effect successful integrations with internal Fiserv business units and external customers.

What you will do:

• Drive Java based application development.
• Develop distributed, highly scalable, efficient, and fault-tolerant systems focused on creating solutions using Microservice architecture.
• Build Solutions and Platforms for enterprise-wide reuse.
• Participate in development activities with onshore and offshore resources.
• Conduct technical walkthroughs with all stakeholders.
• Build proof of concepts and develop application using industry best practices and standards.
• Influence and implement best practices, solutions, and processes.
• Work in agile teams to deliver user stories on time and at high quality.

What you will need to have:

• 8+ years of Java development experience, including Spring 6.0, Java 1.8, Spring boot, Spring Micro services, Spring JPA, Spring Web flux, Hibernate.
• 8+ years of experience working on DevOps and SCM tools like Jenkins, Gitlab, GitHub, Azure DevOps.
• 5+ years of experience with front end technologies like Angular, React, JavaScript and HTML.
• 5+ years of experience working with JSON, Swagger, REST APIs, XML, XML Schemas, and Web Service technology.
• 5+ years of experience working with SQL and No SQL Databases.
• 3+ years of experience with cloud foundation like Azure or AWS.
• 3+ years of experience working in event driven architecture, Kafka, data streams.
• 3+ years of experience working on containers and container management - Docker, Kubernetes.

What would be great to have:

• Agile environment development experience.
• Collaboration experience with multiple teams to provide technical knowhow, solutions to complex business problems.
• Strong engineering and experimentation mindset to learn and adopt modern technologies and opensource packages.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and military experience.
