We are currently seeking a Java Data API Engineer to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee (US-TN), United States (US).

We are seeking an experienced team and technical leader to join NTT DATA’s Data Village team as a Data Village Player Coach. This role requires a seasoned professional with over 9 years of experience in leading teams and technical projects. The ideal candidate will perform data engineering and application hardening tasks as well as serve as a mentor and coach to a team of approximately 4 data engineers, providing guidance on best practices, training opportunities, and broader context around business objectives.

Location:  Nashville, TN (at one of NTT Data's Flagship centers)

Key Responsibilities:  
Data Engineering: Utilize your expertise in developing data pipelines focused on a core data stack of Kafka, PL/SQL and Java . Build and manage dozens of data pipelines to source and transform data based on business requirements. 
Innovation and Learning: Quickly learn new technologies by applying your current skills, staying ahead of industry trends and advancements. Self-identify the need for new skills to be developed and adopt new technologies into your skill set in a month's time.       
Client Collaboration: Work closely with financial services clients to build modern data solutions that transform how they leverage data for key business decisions, investment portfolio performance analysis, and risk and compliance management. Manage multiple stakeholder groups and their requirements.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate within a Pod of 4+ data engineers, working towards common objectives in a consultative fashion with clients. 
Data Movement and Transformation: Use Kafka and PL/SQL for data movement, streaming, and transformation services, ensuring efficient and reliable data workflows. Use Java as a programming language. 
Industry Leadership: Work with a client that is leading the industry in using data to drive business decision optimization and investment management strategies. 
 

Basic Requirements:
Experience: 
4 + years of experience in software and data engineering. 
Technical Skills:       
          Data Warehousing: Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and real-time
          Java: Advanced skills in Java programming for data engineering and data pipelines interfacing with Oracle databases and Kafka for messaging/streaming. 
          Data Integration: Proficiency in integrating data from various sources. 
          Data Platforms: Strong knowledge of relational databases and data warehouse/data lakes. 
          Data Pipelines: Experience in building and managing data pipelines. 
          GitHub: Proficiency in using GitHub for version control. 
          Jenkins: Experience in using Jenkins for continuous integration and delivery. 

Preferred Skills:
      Domain Expertise: Nice to have experience in financial data analysis, risk, and compliance data management. 
      Learning Agility: Ability to quickly learn new technologies by applying current skills. 
      Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies quickly and efficiently.
