The Janitor is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance, and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure the buildings and assigned work areas are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner.

Service shall be provided to the East and West Wings on a 24/7 basis. Schedules for service within the Wings are general guidelines, which may be required to shift based on events and tours occurring in the space. This Janitor position is Essential Personnel and will be expected to perform duties as described in the contract.

  • Cleans offices, corridors, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, escalators, break room, library, kitchenette, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
  • Clean floors using brooms, dust magnets, and mops.
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using a vacuum cleaner.
  • Dust furniture and equipment.
  • Polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
  • Washes door panels and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets.
  • Transports trash to the disposal area and recycle it to designated areas.
  • Replenishes restroom supplies.
  • Responsible for producing quality work.
  • Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake policy.
  • Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
  • Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma/GED or 6 months of previous custodial work experience.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to carry out simple but detailed instructions.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers.
  • Must possess a positive team member attitude.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees with disabilities.
  • Ability to work in environments with narrow, moving, and/or slippery surfaces.
  • A REAL ID is required to access this building.
