Overview & Responsibilities
The Information Technology Project Manager will plan, establish, and manage information technology (IT) projects and will serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of assigned projects.
This position will be primarily responsible for developing project plans including a charter, scope, work schedule and budget. This position will provide oversight and guidance to the project team and plan from project initiation through project close while utilizing a consistent structured project management methodology. This position must possess the ability to understand, evaluate and suggest improvements to business processes while collaborating with the business process owner.
Background and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer or information science-related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Twelve or more years of related experience required in IT and project management including budget monitoring along with knowledge of functional areas across an enterprise (i.e., Operations, Finance, Order Management, Procurement, Engineering, Human Resources or Payroll) in support of multiple global locations.
Organized with attention to detail.
Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience and comfort with communicating and presenting to senior leadership.
Willing and able to quickly adapt to competing demands or a change in assigned priorities.
Comfortable embracing and actively supporting change.
Must have strong motivating, negotiating and influencing skills to effectively resolve team conflict when it arises.
Thorough understanding of project management principles and planning.
Project Management certification preferred.
Thorough understanding of common information technology procedures and practices.
Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Projects or related software.
Ability to motivate groups of people to complete a project on schedule.
Experience in navigating organizational dynamics as well as working closely with business process owners.
Awareness of cultural diversity to effectively interact with globally based process owners.
Nature of the Job:
Directing project communications relevant to processes being re-engineered.
Directing global Elliott Group and Ebara projects for multiple sites and across multiple business functions (i.e., Finance, Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Order Management, HR, or Payroll) delivering timely execution resulting in business process owners’ satisfaction.
Managing the business process owner and team members interface in a manner which enhances the outcome of the projects.
Persuading teams to come to consensus when in conflict.
Motivating team members to collaborate and come to consensus regarding the project goals in the best interest of Ebara and Elliott Group.
Motivating team members to complete project milestones on schedule when the project isn’t their primary role.
Controlling priorities, schedules, budgets, scope, and related resource issues to the global projects.
Developing accurate global project charters.
In most cases, projects are governed by general procedures, although numerous unique projects are encountered due to the combination of various business process owners' requirements.
Developing and integrating process improvements into projects and daily activities.
Acting on behalf of Elliott Group Information Technology department in communications between the business process owners and other Elliott and Ebara personnel involved in a project while maintaining business process owner, other Elliott, and Ebara employees and other technical resources "goodwill".
Making decisions for new applications that make the work stream efficient from start to finish – understanding the business process at a level to engage business process owners through the decision-making process to ensure efficiency and clarity of outcomes.
