IT Database Administrator

This role is HYBRID, on-site 3 days a week at the Northbrook, IL.

The IT Database Administrator contributes to the implementation and maintenance database management of moderately complex Sales Coverage system. Supports Leadership with planning Sales Coverage IT projects, ensuring goals and objectives are met within an arranged time frame. 
Develops processes that assure data is properly stored and access is properly controlled. Reviews database system needs, options, risks, cost analysis, impact on IT departments, and organization’s business goals.

• Supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of database management systems.
• Develops processes that assure data is properly stored and access is properly controlled.
• Supports business management with database access, optimum resource configuration, cost analysis, and database performance.
• Designs and installs database management system applications.
• Establishes synergies with existing database applications and processing systems.
• Monitors progress of projects by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.
• Performs backup and recovery on database management systems.
• Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
• Performs other duties as directed.
• Supports leadership with planning and executing Sales Coverage projects, ensuring goals and objectives are met within an arranged time frame.
• Contributes to system development through the analysis of business requirements, business design, business development, client training, data conversion, testing and maintenance.
• Analyzes Sales Coverage system requirements, preparing of specifications, designing, coding, testing, debugging and documenting.

• University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus generally seven years of directly related experience. 
• Technical working knowledge and experience developing database management systems and solutions.
