Summary
The IT Communications Network Technician II/III/Senior is responsible for the installation and maintenance of organization-owned facilities, telecommunications and physical security systems including regular and emergency repair, testing and inspecting all facilities and equipment
Minimum Requirements
Level II

Associate degree in electronic technology and 2 years related experience and or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficient in electric and/or electronic theory, along with a general knowledge of math and science necessary to support various radio, telephone, physical security and telecommunications systems. Understanding of AC/DC theory and grounding practices. Functional knowledge of radio, telecommunications and physical security systems, installation practices and troubleshooting methods. Fundamentals in internet protocols (IP), basic networking, Ethernet functionality.

Position requires individuals to be capable of operating 4X4 vehicles w/ standard transmissions on primitive roads where extremes of desert heat and high altitude snow and/or ice may be encountered
Level III

Associates degree in electronic technology and 7 years related experience and or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Comprehensive knowledge and skills in performing installation, testing, maintenance and repair of radio, telecommunications, physical security, telephony, data/IP networking and computing systems. Demonstrated proficiency or certification (CCNA or equiv.) in IP routing, switching and Ethernet functionality. Possess an effective understanding of electronic theory and circuit analysis.

Associates degree in electronic technology and 10 years related experience and or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Advanced knowledge and skills in performing installation, testing, maintenance and repair of radio, telecommunications, physical security, telephony, data/IP networking and computing systems. Demonstrated proficiency or certification (CCNA or equiv.) in IP routing, switching and Ethernet functionality. Possesses strong organizational, planning, and communications skills, both verbal and written. Has an extensive understanding of electrical systems, electronic theory and circuit analysis. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in telecommunications system architecture

Major Accountabilities
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
- Knowledge of service offerings; customer service principles; various computer software applications, PCs, operating systems, and other computer-related technologies.
- Ability to install chains; operate or utilize a variety of other types of snow equipment such as snowcats, snowmobiles, and snowshoes depending upon area of assignment; and work at remote locations
- Previous work experience requiring mechanical aptitude and the safe usage of common hand tools.
- Familiarity in Drafting or Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)
- Supervision of tower work crews to ensure safe work practices and quality installations.
- All technicians are expected to be available for call out 24/7days a week and to be able to work out of town or outside of primary reporting area.
