Inventory Control Specialist- Tool Engineering

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for quoting, ordering, tracking, and invoice management of the purchased components required for the custom fixturing and automation systems produce by the Manufacturing Technology Center (MTC).
• Engage with suppliers and develop new suppliers to ensure strong relationship are in place and competitive prices are negotiated.
• Navigate shortages, overdues, change requests, and expedited orders.
• Maintain well organized and accurate purchase order and invoice history.
• Manage stocked inventory and buy cards for commonly used components and office supplies.
• Work with corporate purchasing and accounting to ensure best practices are followed.
• Create and maintain all MTC shop orders in the MRP Software.
• Create the job packets that manages the work through the different departments within the MTC.
• Scan and save the tool requisition information by requester.
• Communicate completed tool requisitions and close jobs in the MRP software.
• Maintain accurate part and labor cost.
• Generate cost and hour reports when requested.  Run Open/Closed reports weekly.
• Communicate weekly with management and/or accounting on budgets and any issues or concerns that arise.
• Compose international shipping paperwork when required.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation on suppliers such as primary contacts, phone/fax numbers, NDA’s, warranties, etc.
• Coordinate supplier meetings both at the company and the supplier.
• Attend seminars and tour supplier facilities as necessary.
• Participate in departmental meetings.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and 5S initiatives.
• Provide training, mentoring, and lead user group meetings.
• Ability to choose between  4/10 or 5/8 work schedule. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• This position reports to the Tool Engineering Manager.

 

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years' related experience
• Associate degree
  • Non-degree considered if 6+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED
• Must have valid driving privileges
• Occasional travel (0-5%)
• Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• A two-year college degree and/or four to seven years of associated experience.
• Experience with fixture build environments is highly desired. 
• Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, with a commonsense approach, are also desired.
