We’re more than just a leader in the better-for-you meat snack industry-we’re a team driven by quality, innovation and a passion for great meat sticks and jerky. With seven facilities across four states, we’re setting the standard in excellence for our co-manufacturing and private label customers. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for highly motivated individuals who want to be part of an industry-leading company that values contribution, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Western Smokehouse Partners is currently looking for an Inventory Control Specialist.
Description:
The Inventory Control Specialist is an 90% floor/10% office/desk position. The Inventory Control Specialist spends the vast majority of their time ensuring inventory, both Company-owned inventory and Customer-owned inventory, is accurate at all times. This involves constant floor time physically counting inventory as well as reconciling that inventory to Deacom system reporting. Some desk time needed to send customers their inventory and answer customer questions about inventory via email. Use of Deacom system to run reports and investigate variances.
Duties:
- Constant cycle counting of all Company-owned inventory categories (meat, seasoning, casings, film, and corrugate). Expected frequency assigned by Plant Analysts but generally identified as:
Meat: Every 1-2 days
Seasoning: Twice per week
Casings: Twice per week
Film: Weekly in total and daily after every continuous SKU stoppage in production
Corrugate: Weekly in total and daily after every continuous SKU stoppage in production
Operating Supplies: Weekly
- Maintain records for customer owned inventory; communicate inventory levels with customer no less than biweekly but also answer customer questions as requested
- First stop for any inventory questions in the plant, serving the Plant Manager, Plant Analyst, Supply Chain Manager, and Customer on all questions related to inventory
- Guardian for nonconforming materials in the plant – identify problems, communicate with customers and vendors, and ensure closure of open issues within 2 weeks of identification
- Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory for review with Plant Analyst
- Return inventory if no longer in use- partial rolls of film, weighing rolls, starting sequence on all returns
- Review and vouch production batch records when recurring inventory discrepancies are identified to try to prevent root causes of variances
- Maintain order in the warehouse; ensure stock is being utilized on a FIFO basis and inventory stock areas are cleaned and organized
- Use Deacom for stock moves between locations and quarantine control as needed
If you’re looking for a workplace where you’re valued, supported, and where you’ll be a part of a team that’s shaping the future of meat snacks, we’d love to have you join us
