Scope of Position
Manages and directs activities of employees engaged in inventory control. Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, accuracy and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems. The Distribution Center in a fast-paced, high-volume 600,000 square foot state of the art Automotive Distribution center in Shawnee, KS.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Collaborates with all other departments to ensure inventory is maintained.
• Ensures their departmental milestones are met and adhere to budgets.
• Creates and maintains inventory and production reports.
• Monitors net and absolute variance adjustments and meet company goals.
• Work with internal and external auditors.
• Provide monthly cycle count results to finance and corporate internal auditors.
• May recruit, hire, train staff, review employee timesheets, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action
• Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
• Works to maintain a balance within JDE, WMS and DIT systems.
• Responsible for approving time off requests and payroll transactions for their department.
• Assists in duties as required managing the warehouse management system.
• Ensure employees understand company policies and follow them.
• Enforces safety regulations.
• Special project work when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience AND/OR Education
• Position requires a 4-year bachelor’s degree in relation to distribution.
• Minimum of 10 years related inventory control experience.
• Must have intermediate level knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with the JD Edwards operating system with prior experience in a WMS environment preferred.
• Good communication skills and follow instructions/directions with minor supervision.
• General understanding of overall distribution and related inventory control functions.

Ergonomic Focus and Additional Qualifications
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Other physical demands: standing and walking; occasional bending/stooping; exposure to hot, cold, and dust
• May require work during seasonal demands on alternate shift including evenings and weekends
