Interventional Radiology Technician 2

The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 2 provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor, and mentor. Demonstrates leadership skills in decision making and problem solving. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others. Uses standards and guidelines for cost-effective care delivery while incorporating data and information to continuously improve care and practice to enhance outcomes.

Position Title 

Inova Health System’s Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 2 to join our Unit team supporting Arrhythmia Services. This position is full time, One weekend per month and one day per week call.

Responsibilities 

• Effectively utilizes Inova Health System Inventory Management systems.
• Assists RNs to accurately explain procedures to patients and families to ease anxiety.
• Troubleshoots equipment effectively and places service calls to Biomedical when necessary.
• Anticipates procedure flow and works with other team members to produce the highest quality care.
• Provides a safe environment and identifies hazards immediately. Follows unit protocols to take corrective actions as needed.
• Demonstrates proficiency in imaging modalities in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology such as digital, laser printing, and cut film.
   

Requirements

• Certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) and American Registered Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry in Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiovascular (CV) or Cardiovascular Interventional(CI)
• Licensure - Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Radiologic Technologist is required only if the position is located in a free-standing center not affiliated with an Inova Health System Hospital.
• Experience - One year of work experience as a Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Technologist.
• Education -Vocational/Technical in the area of study in Radiologic Technology; Graduate of an accredited school of Radiography; Associate or higher degree preferred
