Job Summary
The Internal Communications Specialist II, under the supervision of the Internal Communications Supervisor, and mentorship of the Internal Communications Specialist III when appropriate, generates and provides strategic input in the creation Internal Communications collateral in alignment with Internal Communications strategies, organizational culture, branding guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
This position is a key production member of the cross-functional Communications team with mid-level independent decision-making and problem solving capabilities. This position, under guidance and mentorship of Internal Communications Specialist III and supervision of the Internal Communications Supervisor, implements internal communications materials and strategies created by Internal Communications Specialist III and Internal Communications Supervisor to engage our employee audience through a variety of platforms and delivery channels that communicate news, corporate knowledge and culture, and stimulate workforce engagement and collaboration.
Duties
Works with the Internal Communications and Communications teams to create collateral for Internal Communications initiatives. Writes, edits, or posts articles, scripts, or web content following standard journalistic style, scriptwriting standards, and best practices for web design and information presentation, including feature stories, news items, news summaries, blogs, personality or character profiles, recognition pieces, and video scripts on a wide range of employee-appropriate topics that support our strategic business priorities, team values, and corporate branding, as assigned by the Internal Communications Specialist III or Internal Communications Supervisor.
Under the guidance of The Internal Communications Supervisor and Internal Communications Specialist III when applicable, creates news and collateral in a variety of print and digital formats, including but not limited to digital and print newsletters, memos/emails, videos, photography, Power point presentations, graphically-designed posters, and internal or external online web content; Participates in the production of short videos (script creation for approval, video recording, editing assistance) for employee engagement and/or corporate culture initiatives.
Creates collateral and content to support strategies created by Internal Communications Specialist III and Internal Communications Supervisor, for our main channels of employee communications: Inside L.A. Care Intranet, In the Loop newscast, video productions, and Today @ L.A. Care employee newsletter, under the guidance of Internal Communications Specialist III and Internal Communications Supervisor.
Produces via writing, editing, and formatting any requested business collateral or other deliverables in print or digital formats in alignment with needs of internal groups and stakeholders identified by Internal Communications Specialist III or Internal Communications Supervisor.
Accountable for consistent quality, tone, accuracy, clarity, and approach of the communications produced in accordance with our employee engagement goals and business strategies, and introduces new techniques and technologies as appropriate in collaboration with the Communications Digital Team.

Required:
At least 4 years in a corporate communications environment with increasingly responsible experience for intranet or web content and where writing and critical thinking are key elements of the job function.
At least 3-4 years of relevant and increasingly responsible experience in a role where writing and critical thinking for multiple formats are key elements of the job function.
