Internal Audit Staff

About the Position:

As the Internal Audit Staff, you will perform audits, including Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 control testing of various activities, functions and departments to ensure audit objectives are met; interacts with management and other bank personnel to perform audits, and performs special projects as directed by the Vice President, Internal Audit.

What You Will Do:

• Perform audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting processes, procedures and results
• Build and maintain effective relationships with the business areas, including understanding changes to business processes and procedures and potential impacts to the controls being tested
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems and management’s compliance with those controls
• Evaluate management’s compliance with applicable internal policies, procedures, processes, banking regulations and various related state and federal laws
• Prepare workpapers that are written clearly and concisely, allowing readers to understand the issues and recommendations being reported on
• Identify, develop, and document audit issues and make recommendations for improving internal controls, operating efficiency, automation of controls, and the adequacy of records and record keeping
• Communicate or assist in communicating the results of audit and consulting projects via written reports on a timely basis to management
• Develop and maintain productive team-oriented relationships through individual contacts and group meetings 
• Periodically meets with the Internal Audit Team to discuss audit calendar and audits in progress
• Perform audits as scheduled
• Perform other projects and/or duties as assigned by the Internal Audit Team

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field of study required
• Strong experience utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel
• Strong speaking and listening skills
• Ability to perform focused work with close attention to detail
• Demonstrates organization skills to successfully manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of employees in person, by phone, and through email

Working Conditions/Demands:

• Professional office setting.
• Must be able to move throughout the office and buildings to obtain or relay information as well as effectively utilize a remote support staff.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
