Intern - Information Security (Summer 2025)

Summary

Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking for an Information Security Intern to support the Information Technology Team and be a part of our 2025 Summer Internship Program. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,200 lawyers located in 15 offices in six countries.

The Information Security Intern will be a member of the Infrastructure and Security team and will participate in various projects. The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain confidential information at all times. This role will require you to be intellectually curious, develop security detection rules, and review and handle the security alerts. Additionally, candidates will have a strong interest in Cyber security and experience in coding/scripting and networking.

This is a great opportunity for the Information Security Intern to gain valuable hands-on experience in a law firm environment. Candidates should be willing to work Monday through Friday, standard hours. Individuals will be selected on a rolling basis through the summer for a 10 week program. If the internship is extended past the summer, the Information Security Intern may be asked to work 20 hours a week. While this role is primarily remote, interns are welcomed to attend in-person events at their local office.

Responsibilities

• Review and handle security alerts.
• Develop security detection rules.
• Vulnerability research and follow with stakeholders on remediation progress.
• Create documentation for processes and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in coding/scripting, networking.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Focus in Cyber security as a career.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

• Ability to sit at a desk most of the working day and walk short distances
• Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
• Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals
• Ability to carry light [to moderate] objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance.
• Must be able to lift, carry and move objects [up to 15/20/25 lbs OR in excess of 25/30 lbs]

Pay Range

USD $19.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.

Pay Range Statement

This position is a part-time hourly role and benefits eligibility will be more limited. Candidates should direct questions about benefits to the hiring manager for clarification as needed.
