Intern, Graphic Design, Web Design and Development

The ARA Creative Media Team is seeking an intern with experience in Graphic Design, Web Design, and Web Development. Seeking a candidate with creative and technical abilities. Previous experience in the creation and development of websites to include coding is preferred. Seeking individual who is organized, highly motivated, able to execute multiple projects from inception to completion, able to design within brand guidelines, and able to meet short deadlines while working in a group setting.

Expertise with the following programs is preferred: HTML5, Javascript, JQuery, CSS3, web design and animation. An understanding of building responsive web design and 508 compliant sites, as well as experience in Visual Studio (or any IDE such as Brackets, Sublime or Dreamweaver), using Emmet in the development process, is also greatly desired. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications, especially Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus!

Duties Include:

• Effectively conceptualize, design, and create high quality, custom visuals.
• Testing and improving the design of websites.
• Establishing design guidelines, standards, and best practices.
• Assist in the creation of design plans and presenting the website structure.
• Optimize multimedia for web delivery.
• Designing visual imagery for websites and ensuring that they are in line with branding for clients.
• Create animations in HTML5, Adobe Animate or After Effects.
• Maintain organized, archived project folders and image files.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be currently enrolled as a graphic design student at an accredited U.S. College or University.
• Academic coursework in graphic design, web design & development.
• Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must possess previous experience in graphics design, web design and development.

This position is a part of a creative team that works together to assess project needs and recommend appropriate design solutions for clients to meet their project and messaging goals. Interviewees will be asked to submit a portfolio of their work.
