Position Summary

The Global Patient Operations Intern will provide hands‑on support to our Global Business Process Optimization and Change Management team by assisting with both project‑based work and day‑to‑day business operations. This role will contribute to the successful execution of operational excellence (OpEx) initiatives through coordination, documentation, and administrative support. The intern will gain exposure to cross‑functional operations, process improvement, and project execution while building foundational skills in business operations.

This internship is from June 1-August 7, 2026.

This is a temporary, time-bound position intended for the duration of the internship or co-op program. Employment in this role does not imply or guarantee ongoing or permanent employment with BMS.

The starting hourly compensation for this assignment is between $20-$52/hr. Please note that the final individual compensation and any applicable benefits will be determined by your employer of record (and not BMS). Factors influencing this decision may include the characteristics of the assignment, such as demonstrated experience, required skill, and the geographic location of the job. Compensation details are subject to change.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support project execution by assisting with planning, tracking, and coordination of low‑level project activities

  • Assist in the development, formatting, routing, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for Operational Excellence (OpEx) team initiatives

  • Help coordinate internal and external training activities, including scheduling, materials preparation, and follow‑up

  • Support business operations through data gathering, documentation, and status reporting

  • Maintain organized records, files, and documentation to support team workflows and compliance

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to support ongoing projects and continuous improvement efforts

  • Perform additional administrative or operational support tasks as needed to enable team priorities


Qualifications & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in business, operations, engineering, life sciences, or a related field

  • All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and for the duration of their employment. Please note that visa sponsorship, including for student or temporary work authorization programs, is not available for this role. Candidates must have work authorization that does not require sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Demonstrated interest in business operations, project management, or process improvement

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured environment

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear documentation and collaborate with team members

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams) preferred

  • Ability to follow established processes while also identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvement 

  • Detail‑oriented with a strong sense of accountability and willingness to learn

  • Prior internship, part‑time work, academic projects, or extracurricular leadership experience preferred, but not required
