Intern Commercial Operations

Tenaska is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States, an organization that’s adept in natural gas and power marketing, power management, development and acquisition of generation assets, operation of power plants and more.

Position Summary:

The Commercial Operations Intern will support the Commercial Operations team with various functions including Origination Support, Market Research, Data Analysis and Reporting activities.

Essential Job Functions:

• Work with the Commercial Operations team on various commercial and analytical support tasks
• Assist with Origination support activities including research and reporting
• Develop an understanding of US Power Markets and power industry fundamentals
• Assist Originators with research associated with prospecting deals in their regions
• Work closely with various groups within the organization
• Other projects as assigned
• Reliable, dependable, and predictable in-office attendance is a requirement

Education/Experience/Skills

Basic Requirements:

• Pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in business, engineering, energy, or technology.

Preferred Requirements:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• An ability to function efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, high energy, team environment, with the highest level of attention and accountability
• Strong computer and analytical skills
• Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, real-time, and internet applications are a must
• Experience with workflow products or Microsoft Suite a plus
