POSITION TITLE:                     Intensive Programs Manager

LOCATION/DEPT:                   Harbor Light

REPORTS TO:                         Director of Clinical Programs

FLSA CATEGORY:                  Exempt

DEPARTMENT MISSION

To provide each client with positive, professional and quality service; always promoting respect dignity and fairness to each client; while making appropriate referrals which will assist clients in reaching their maximum level of independence.

 

PROGRAM/CLIENT ENVIRONMENT

The backgrounds of the clients served by The Harbor Light Program will manifest a variety of inappropriate behaviors.  When this occurs, employees are to respond within the context of the treatment environment of the site.  Employee conduct (actions, dress, etc.) and interactions (conversations, written communications, etc.) with clients must also be within the treatment environment of the facility.    

 

OUTCOMES

Quality programming, organized staffing, effective client treatment, cooperative working relationship within and outside the agency will be achieved in both the Intensive Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) and the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assumed over-all administration of IRU and IOP which includes:
    1. Staff Management: Recommendations are made in hiring, promotions, disciplinary action and discharges; performance of each staff member is evaluated once a year; efficient ways of utilizing staff time are planned and executed upon approval.
    2. Client Management: Cases are assigned to staff members; treatment provided is overseen according to individual treatment plans within current policies and procedures; client records are kept up to date and in order.
  2. Supervision, direction and leadership are provided to all IRU and IOP staff, students and other associated personnel.
  3. Limited direct service is provided to clients via intake assessments and on-going counseling.
  4. Planning with other staff is initiated and coordinated; plans are delegated to be developed by others in accordance with Unit goals; planning results are reviewed for approval, and changes are recommended whenever necessary.
  5. Committees for special tasks are participated in such as in-service training and program evaluation, and his/her assigned work is carried out within time frames.
  6. Staff training needs are assessed; training opportunities and resources are recommended.
  7. Record keeping and reporting functions are performed and required periodic reports and statistical reports are sent to funding sources accurately and promptly.
  8. Cooperative and professional relationships are maintained with network agencies and other health facilities through related contracts and network meetings.
  9. The Unit Manager is responsible for the completeness and accuracy of client records in his or her unit.
  10. All other duties as assigned.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Director of Clinical Programs.

In contacts related to this position’s duties, this individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

This individual will be evaluated on how effectively and efficiently the outcomes of this position are achieved, as well as the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Position requires a Masters’ Degree in Social Work.
  • At least four years of experience in the substance abuse field, including a minimum of one year of supervisory/administrative experience.
  • CADC certification or license required.
