About the role

Instrumentation Technician

Key Role:

Develop electronic systems and components to use within equipment or machinery. Support other engineers to perform tasks when necessary. Apply specific functional knowledge and working and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance and review or guide activities of junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with planning, developing, modifying, troubleshooting, and maintaining one-of-a-kind airborne instrumentation systems and upgrading their capabilities based on the application of emerging technology in aircraft, including F-15E, F-16, F-22, and F-35
  • Knowledge of electronic principles and practices and the use of various pieces of electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, PLA/PLC programmers, telemetry systems, spectrum analyzers, oscillators, amplifiers, and power supplies
  • Knowledge of support of modification and operations activities
  • Ability to perform calibration and troubleshooting for installed instrumentation systems, including video recording, digital data recording, weapon function monitoring, and data collection systems
  • Ability to evaluate, upgrade, modify, and operate instrumentation systems prior to, during, and post-operational missions
  • Ability to coordinate instrumentation requirements, schedules, and work plans
  • Ability to control electronic data collection systems using nonconventional modification hardware, interpret their capabilities, and plan, develop, construct, and integrate new devices into the system to perform multiple tasks not previously associated with aerospace or test and evaluation system capabilities
  • Ability to coordinate data reduction and analyze data to ensure instrumentation compatibility with data reduction capabilities and to monitor the validity of data and operational dependability of instrumentation
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
