Description
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Molecular Biology, invites applications for an Instructor (Research track, nontenured) faculty position. The position requires a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related fields and at least 5 years of postdoctoral experience in field.
Will perform research to uncover novel post-transcriptional gene regulatory mechanisms in physiology and disease. Will collect and analyze research data and prepare manuscripts for submission for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Also, will assist with mentoring and teaching of graduate students in the laboratory.
Position requires advanced expertise in molecular biology techniques as well as tissue culture experience with cell lines as well as primary neuronal cultures and murine embryonic stem cells. Mouse model research experience required, Advanced knowledge of CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing techniques, and RNA-central biochemical techniques also needed.
