What you’ll do
Manage the enrollment and renewal process for small groups (1–9 lives) statewide
Meet or exceed retention and growth targets for health, dental, life, and ancillary products
Assist with the retention of current small business clients by identifying at-risk groups and developing proactive solutions
Assess client needs and present tailored benefit options using available underwriting guidelines
Clearly communicate benefit offerings, premium calculations, and rating methodologies
Respond to customer inquiries professionally and resolve service issues as needed
Monitor competitive activity and provide actionable insights to leadership
Accurately enter and update client data using internal systems (e.g., TMS)
Maintain compliance with ACA, state and federal laws, underwriting policies, and internal procedures
Collaborate with internal teams and participate in team meetings, training, and strategy development
What you need
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong understanding of health, dental, life, and ancillary insurance products
Demonstrated consultative sales skills and objection handling techniques
Ability to interpret underwriting guidelines and benefit plan structures
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including listening and explanation
Excellent time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with competitive market trends and insurance pricing strategies
Proficiency with PC-based systems
Ability to maintain professionalism and customer focus under pressure
Knowledge of ACA regulations and insurance-related state/federal laws
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required,
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Health Economics, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years’ group or individual health insurance sales experience at BCBSKS, or 5 years in group sales
If not already attained, must acquire a State of Kansas Insurance Agents License within 60 days and must maintain license through employment.
If not already attained, must acquire a Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) certification within 30 days and must maintain license through employment.
