This helps to not only improve the journeys that people make but also the places where we all live. From working on an airport or rail business plan to a P3 toll road transaction, as well as research into using data to develop innovative behavioral change strategies, Steer is at the forefront of developing powerful answers to complex problems.
As a global leader in providing technical advice on transportation infrastructure transactions, we are looking for an experienced consultant to expand our North America market presence. Successful candidates will lead teams providing professional services to senior-level private and public clients.
We are interested in candidates with experience and client connections in:
- The development and sponsorship of major transportation projects and programs;
- Regional or non-standard transport planning projects;
- The funding and financing of major public infrastructure projects, especially those using FRA, FTA, sales tax funds and other sources;
- Economic Impact of major public infrastructure investments;
- Major capital expansion programs and operational considerations
Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of experience relevant experience with specific capabilities and client relationships related to transaction advice. Candidates that best fit this position will have assessed and shaped complex infrastructure projects through working as a consultant or at an infrastructure developer/owner/operator.
Accountabilities:
Candidates will be required to:
- Lead teams in delivering successful proposals and projects to time, cost, risk management, and product quality;
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to provide high-quality and differentiated services to our clients;
- Grow our Advisory practice through revenue generation and expanding the breadth of clients;
- Work closely with senior-level colleagues to deliver against company financial and behavioral targets;
- Supervise and mentor more junior colleagues across Steer

Work Environment
All Steer employees seeking a full-time opportunity are non-exempt and encouraged to spend 60% of their time either in office or on-site with clients. An employee’s typical work week consists of 40 hours (Canada 37.5 hours). Hours, expectations, and exemption status will be determined for any applicant seeking a part-time opportunity.
Requirements
Ideal candidates will have demonstratable experience in many of the points below:
- Senior position in the transportation sector, through consultancy, infrastructure advisory, and/or public sector;
- A thorough understanding of the commercial considerations of bidding and market risk in the context of infrastructure transactions;
