About the role

The Information Assurance Lead coordinates and facilitates all information assurance activities, including business continuity planning oversight. Interacts with business units and supports groups for planning, directing, controlling and maintaining the information assurance activities and programs as well as advises on contingency planning efforts. Provides complex project leadership between the technology groups and other organization business units, emphasizing regular direct communication with application support management. Provides leadership in coordinating, assessing, developing and communicating assessment, risk reduction, recovery environment and contingency plan requirements associated with the company's business units to protect the organization from the effects of unplanned disruption events or cyber-attack. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops corporate emergency response procedures. Manages Business Continuity Planning (BCP) efforts, provides documentation and training to all employees having a need to understand the BCP process. Provides direct communications between the BCP Project Office, Information Technology Operations, Technology architecture, Engineering Systems and Systems Application.
  • Conducts and reviews staff meeting attendance, monthly status reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, expense processing, documentation and other activities, as assigned, in a timely manner.
  • Performs periodic reviews and tests of established Business Continuity Plans and procedures, reporting findings to management and making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Assumes management responsibility for Business Contingency planning efforts with a major focus on assuring the adequacy of business unit contingency plans for critical business areas, functions, and applications.
  • Maintains continued operations, asset protection, and loss mitigation in the event of a disruption, coordinating activities of technology resources with the company's business units and development groups, as required.
  • Assists the department in enhancing, formalizing and standardizing the business planning process including forecasting and tracking mechanisms across all business units to facilitate timely accommodation of future company recovery requirements and opportunities.
  • Works with management to ensure that new applications, equipment, facilities, services, and systems include disaster recovery strategies and are assessed for adequate protective and audit controls.
  • Assumes management responsibility for development of Information Assurance Programs under the direction of the Chief Information Security Officer and assists stakeholders with Business Contingency planning efforts with a major focus on assuring the adequacy of business unit contingency plans for critical business areas, functions and applications.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
  • Experience: Three years of management experience and five years of work experience in Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity planning and testing. Prior experience in healthcare, financial, or a related field. Experience with administrative system level settings is required. Five years of experience in HIPAA, Joint Commission, and Federal/State regulatory rules.
