Industrial Engineer

Description

The Industrial Engineer will create, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing systems, reducing costs while maintaining standards of operations. 

Role and Responsibilities

· Collaborates with senior engineers to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and building ergonomics for new product lines.

· Designs, redesigns, or enhances work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated.

· Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, and trends and developments in technology and equipment; applies this knowledge to maintain the organization’s competitive edge.

· Identifies and assesses various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices; researches and recommends solutions.

· Maintains production work instructions and engineering change notifications under document control. 

· Creates and maintains Bill of Materials for Tangent products in an organized document management system.

· Develops and maintains management information, planning, and control systems.

· Manages Engineering order tracking for both CapEx and Sustaining production needs.

· Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs.

· Performs other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

  Required skills/abilities

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

· Thorough understanding of ergonomics and applicable industry standards.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering required.

· At least three years of engineering experience required.

Physical requirements

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. 

· Must be able to access and navigate all areas in the facility and access all machinery.
