Job Responsibilities:

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • A four-year degree in Industrial Engineering

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively more-complex process, packaging, process change background, preferably in the area of high-volume automotive assembly and sequencing.

  • Candidates with logistics/warehousing background considered and familiar with Lean manufacturing concepts.

  • Experience with SAP and/or ERP systems

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Create, read, understand and modify electrical prints and specifications.

  • Working knowledge of resistance spot and GMAW.

  • Experience with PHSR and Industrial Safety Standards.

  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and with a variable workload.

  • Strong organizational, planning, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrate a maturity of judgement, leadership skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational, listening, communication and presentation skills in all aspects of the job function.

  • Excellent math skills with the ability to apply to analyze data.

  • Ability to demonstrate and use Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, PanelBuilder, EPLAN.

  • Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirements.

  • Must be able to interact effectively with other team members.

  • Able to appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality, using discretion and tact.

DUTIES:

Process Development:

  • Incorporate MAFACT standards and plant rules as a standard guideline to assist in the development of a conveyance process supporting customer and plant run rates (JPH, Takt Time)

  • Responsible for the development of plant sequencing areas, processes, equipment & training documentation.

  • Monitor and support development of smooth material flow for production materials to lineside production stations

  • Initiate and assist MPS in the development and time study of material handler loops and routes

  • Assist supervisors in the development of process corrective actions & continual improvements.

  • Dunnage, conveyance equipment and line side racking design responsibility.

  • Design, commission, oversee install and maintain in good working order all warehouse racking and storage equipment.

  • Division Champion for PFEP (plan for every part)

  • Develop and maintain materials relevant to shop floor visual management (ie labelling, signage) and assure it meets MAFACT guidelines.

Packaging:

  • Responsible for maintaining all supplier Packaging Approval Data Sheet (PADS) forms and coordinating any packaging trials.

  • Assist materials team with packaging improvements to optimize inbound logistics routing costs.

  • Coordinate repair and replacement of damaged packaging and totes required to support plant sequencing and conveyance requirements.

  • Development of special-order packaging.

Process Changes:

  • Responsible for all PCN changes related to process & material flow, packaging and presentation. Expected to attend all change control meetings

  • Ensures compliance with National Electrical Co
